At a city council meeting in February the mayor of Lancaster, California, Rex Parris, responded to a community member who was unhappy with the leader’s ideas about putting the town’s homeless population into encampments by saying, “I want to give them all the free fentanyl they want. That’s what I want.”

When asked in an interview with Fox 11 LA, he doubled down, saying, “Quite frankly, I wish the president would give us a purge. Because we do need to purge these people.”
He continued, “Now, is it harsh? Of course it is harsh. But it is my obligation as the mayor of the city of Lancaster to protect the hardworking families that live here, and I am no longer able to do it. … It’s an untenable situation. … I want these people out of our city.”
This is a prime example of why voting local is so important. This official has been elected six times. Change begins where you are. Vote local, and vote every time.
Mayor Parris will hold his office until 2028. In the meantime, I’m sure people would love to give him some feedback. Here’s his info:
